LOCI AI is a patented open protocol for sovereign AI memory, designed and developed by Nicola Marinello in Milan, Italy.
Unlike cloud-dependent AI memory systems (Mem0, Zep/Graphiti, MemGPT), LOCI keeps all personal data on the user's device. The system uses a local language model as a Sovereignty Guardian that decides — in real time — whether a task can be handled locally or needs cloud assistance. When cloud is used, data is obfuscated and every interaction is cryptographically notarized.
